Responsibilities of Astra Foundation by the mediation in international adoption in Bulgaria

• To act as an intermediary for international adoptions in accordance with Astra’s stated objectives, ethical principles and in conformity with its license and the law.
• To enter into agreements with adoptive parent(s) according to the Bulgarian law.
• To monitor all of the necessary stages and steps of the Adoption process in a professional, thorough, and timely manner.
• To furnish to the adoptive parent(s) on a timely basis detailed information regarding their rights and responsibilities and any legal ramifications of the adoption.
• To assist the adoptive parent(s) in their contact with the child – candidate for adoption and to provide them with all available information as provided by the Ministry of Justice.
• To represent the adoptive parent(s) in all Court proceedings as may be required by the laws of Bulgaria.
